Collection & Arrival
The Club staff collecting reception children ensures that
the handover is from adult to adult. Older children (i.e. juniors) meet
the Club staff in the respective school reception area, in view of the
school administration staff.
The walking ratio of the Club staff to children being escorted and when
at the premises is 1:8.
The escorting procedure is -
- Youngest children hold hands with the Club staff
- The group remains together in an orderly fashion
- In larger groups one member of staff will lead the group with another
at the back
- When crossing roads the “lollipop” person will be used
and if not available, the member of staff will remain in the centre
of the road whilst the children cross
If a child has been booked into the Club but will not subsequently attend
then the respective parent/carer is to inform the Club staff or the school
receptionist.
On arrival to the Club -
- A register will be taken by the Club Supervisor
- All children will be made aware of Club rules on a termly basis
- All equipment will be inspected and removed if unsafe
- Children will be supervised to ensure that any equipment is used
properly
- The children will not be left unsupervised at any time
- A First Aid pack will be maintained along with Fist Aid records
- The Club staff in attendance will include a qualified First Aider,
and the remaining staff will be aware who this First Aider is
- Children activities will be planned and equipment ready to use
- All staff will be aware of each others duties for the respective
session
